The “Win-Win: Gender Equality means good business” programme, in collaboration with the International Women’s Coffee Alliance (IWCA), introduces the virtual business round: “Gender Equality means Good Business”, in which women-led Latin American companies have the privilege to showcase their products to the world.

The “Win-Win” programme which is a partnership between the International Labor Organization (ILO), UN WOMEN and the European Union (EU) exists to contribute to empower women economically. The project appreciates them as drivers and beneficiaries of growth and development.

Focussed on women-led networks and companies, those that are constantly committed to gender equality and girls and/or women empowerment, the programme supports business opportunities, joint projects, unions, and creativity and innovation among women in Latin America and the European Union.

The programme established a partnership with IWCA which has now taken root in 27 countries. 3 of these, Costa Rica, Jamaica and Brazil, will present their products in the upcoming business round.

If you are running a company and are interested in purchasing excellent coffees from women-led farms while supporting gender equality in the coffee value chain, this chance is for you.

“Study after study has confirmed that there is no development strategy more beneficial to society as a whole— women and men alike— than one which involves women as central players. When women are fully involved, the benefits can be seen immediately: families are healthier; they are better fed; their income, savings and reinvestment go up. And what is true of families is true of communities and, eventually, whole countries.”

– Kofi Annan (1938-2018)
